- 41-35177 "Uden Uden's Oil Burner" ( 34th BS 17th BG) being escorted home from a raid on Rocca Secca bridge, note the feathered prop, the copilot Lt Tillman Beardon has ordered all excess weight be thrown overboard to maintain altitude on one engine. The aircraft was named after an instructors wife, after he was killed in an accident. the aircraft escorting is 42-43272 #87 'Hawkeye' of the 432BS. 30-Dec-43.
Crew: Pilot 2Lt Robert R Bennett, Copilot 2Lt Tillman Beardon, Bomb/Nav 2Lt William J Bell, S/Sgt Robert D Willcox, S/Sgt William B O'Donovan, S/Sgt William Russell, CC t/Sgt Albert H Hurt.
