[Censor no.] Printed caption on reverse: 'AMERICA'S "RED DEVIL" [a censor has omitted 'Red Devil']FLYERS. USP/2247-13. Where there is an American Air Force unit there is apt to be a poker game. Here is a friendly game going on in "Sack Shack." Officers from other huts are cordially invited to join in, especially is there is a prospect of "new money". Sometimes, however they go off with more than they bring in, but the boys in "Sack Shack" are philosophical, and attribute it to the fortunes of war. Here (left to right) are Major Sherman R Beaty, Hoquiam, Washington, 2nd Lt John A Nydegger, Beige, Idaho; 1st Lt Floyd A [illegible], Limon Colorado, 1st Lt Joseph H Ross, Jackson, Tenn. Capt Robert E Sands, Hayside, New York (while playing he wears a top-hat for luck) 1st Lt Edward J Laube, Chicago, Ill, 1st lt Robert G Pyle, Kaufman, Texas, 1st Lt Robert L Perkins, Houston, Texas, 2nd Lt James W Andrews, Princeton, Ind, As in the case of Andrews, men are often seen with their trousers-rolled to keep them out of the greasy bicycle sprockets.'
