Lieutenant-Colonel John C. "J.C." Meyer, ace pilot of the 487th Fighter Squadron, 352nd Fighter Group. He was injured in vehicle accident in Belgium, in January 1945 but stayed in the United States Army Air Forces after the war. He commanded the 4th Fighter-Interceptor Wing during the early part of the Korean War and destroyed two Mig-15s in 31 missions.
