Nice in-flight shot of P-51B 42-106945 E9-V of 376th Fighter Squadron. The assigned pilot is currently unknown but this a/c was involved in a taxiing accident on 11th May 1944 at Bottisham with Lt.Col. Roswell Freedman at the controls. At some point during its service as E9-V it bore the nickname “Smokey”. The photos were taken from a B-24 of the 489th Bomb Group, 844th Squadron by the late Sgt. Bernard Terry.
