B-17F of the 398th Bomb Group receives a blessing from the Wahoo band of the Lakota Sioux Indians at Rapid City Army Air Base. "Witka Tanka Ton" means 'bird that lays big eggs' in the language of Sioux Indians of South Dakota. While this aircraft did not deploy to the UK with the 398th, a later model B-17G (42-107138) with this same nickname did deploy with the group for combat operations.
