Westmore, 22, North American P-51 Mustang fighter pilot of the 8th AF, from Kerman, Calif., talks with his armourer, Sgt Locklyn Sangster of Northampton Mass., after shooting down three Nazi planes in great air battle 14 Jan 44. [ Note : this should be 1945 !]. His record of 24 planes destroyed in the air and 3 on the ground, puts Capt. Westmore third, behind 8th AAF leading fighter pilots Lt. Col. David C. Shilling and Lt. Col. John C. Meyer. England.”
