'Dramatic photograph of a stricken B-17 bomber with a crew member bailing out. The pilot, 2nd Lt. Raymond J. Scranton, and one of the waist gunners, S/Sgt. Horace E. Stewart,Jr., were KIA. The remainder of the crew became POWs'. B-17F 42-29856 'Patches' 815th BS, 483rd BG, 8AF USAAF.
