The Electrical and Radio Sections of the 463rd Sub Depot, 389th Bomb Group, Hethel Air Base, Norwich, England. were combined, because the large volume of electrical equipment maintenance and repair work created a manpower shortage in the Electrical Department, while there was a scarcity of work in the Radio Department. The Electrical Department performed all maintenance, modifications and repairs on starters, generators, solenoids, voltage regulators, dynamotors, etc. In addition to their work on aircraft accessories, they repaired electrical systems damaged in battle. Other work performed by this group including wiring of buildings, machinery, and installing field lighting systems. Among the men who served here were Orion W. Baumgardner, Doyle O. Bigsby, William E. Cast, Francis P. Doyle, Samuel C. Edsall, Robert A. Kimball, Ralph R. Lutz, Noble L. Palmer (NCOIC), Wallace R. Riggins, Alfred Stempien, and William G. Stetson, Jr.
