[stamp] and 353311.' [Censor no.] Printed caption on reverse is damaged, what remains reads: 'Busch Foto...P-47 landing strip.... in France...where GIs... from England and ....' The field is most likely Brucheville (9th AF ALG A-16), France, from which the 36th operated August- September 1944.

42-76248 was operated by the 511th FS - 405th FG when it was lost in combat 24 May 1944 (MACR 5881), two weeks before D-Day (note invasion stripes on aircraft in photo).

The pictured aircraft was lost in combat 10 February 1945, south of Cologne, Germany (MACR 12300).
