The aircraft was critically damaged by flak over Cologne. Handwritten caption on reverse: 'X+ Murff. 855th Sq., 491st BG. #250757. Florrenes, Belgium. Flak damage over Cologne Oct. 17, 1944 caused this result from emergency landing. Nose wheel collapsed and was standing on nose. This shot shows ship after it had been levelled.
