Detailed History

On May 7th, a B-17 crashed across from the church, in Herringfleet. A signal flare had exploded in the plane, igniting others.

April 8th, Lt Judd and Flight Officer Davis were on a routine Air Sea Rescue spotter sortie. On the way home, they engaged in mock combat over Fritton Lake. Their planes colided, and they both came down in the lake.

Memorial erected by the Hon Savile Crossley, Lord Somerleyton.
