The 84th Service SQ was activated as the 332 Materiel SQ 3 Feb 1942 at Barksdale Fld, LA, then moved to Esler Fld, LA, and was redesignated the 332 Service Group. It embarked for overseas 24 Sept. 1942, Maj. Dozier took command at Goxhill & squadron arrived at Duxford 4 Apr. 1943; renamed 84th Service SQ in Feb. '44 as part of 79th Service Group. Dozier with the 84th from 12/42 - 8/44
