William Dwayne Desanders
MilitaryHad flown on 42-3433 "Alice from Dallas", named after his wife. Flew many missions in the 100th Bomb Group and was either ill or on leave on 25 July 1943 and was replaced by Captain Richard Carey for the fateful mission where 42-5862 was lost, with members of DeSanders' regular crew. Captain DeSanders completed his tour with the 13 February 1944 mission to Sottevast.
