Arrived at Thurleigh on 01 Oct 1943. His first raid was to Gydnia/Danzig, Poland on 09 Oct 1943. Received his new ship 'Fightin Bitin II' on 22 Dec 1943. Lead the squadron on his 14th raid, Ju88 Plant at Halberstadt. Flew Group Deputy leader on 08 March 1944 Berlin Raid. He received a flak wound to the forehead on his 22nd raid on 21 Mar 1944. He completed 27 missions on 20 April 1944.
