Thomas Butler Forbes Jr
MilitaryOn a Bomber support mission 9 April 1944, Thomas Forbes’ P-47 #42-76215 was hit by Flak and/or damaged by the explosion of a locomotive his Flight was strafing in Argentan, Calvados, France. Oil pressure dropped to zero, he bailed out at 2000ft, last seen to the South of Caen. Forbes was made a Prisoner of War (POW). Missing Air Crew Report – MACR 4105.
