Flew first combat mission as CP on another crew. Flew 5 gas missions and 11 combat missions with original crew. Was reassigned to the 784th BS in November 1944 to take over the lead crew of Glen Alexander who was assigned as Operations Officer of the 786th BS. Flew 17 missions as lead Pilot for a total of 29 missions. From Oct. 1945 to May 1951, resumed civilian position at Wright Patterson AFB, Dayton, OH involved with research, development, and stanardization of USAF aircraft engine instruments. From May 1951 to October 1954 Recalled to active duty. Promoted to Major. From December 1954 to May 1970 Civilian employee at Kelly AFB, San Antonio, TX. May 1970 Retired.
