Richard Fred Bangs
MilitaryRichard Bangs served in the US Army Air Corps during World War II. He was probably a member of air crew as he was awarded the Air Medal several times. His obituary reports that he was a member of the Eighth Air Force.
He was also a member of the Reserves for 20 years and retired at the rank of Major. He married Helen Bernetsky in 1951 and they raised a family of four children in Long Island where Richard worked as a teacher and then school principal. He died in 1993, survived by his wife and family.
