Last name misspelt. Spelt as Eriksen, whereas it has been spelt above as Erikson. New name added to the list after the spelling had been solved
He flew the first raid over Germany on 27 Jan 1943.
Shot down 17 April 1943 in B-17 #4229625. Last plane in lead squadron on mission to Bremen, it suffered heavy fighter attack over the target causing damage to both wings and to 2 engines. The entire crew bailed out, but 3 crew members died. Strong reports Ercison and navigator Whiteman spent time together in a German hospital due to injuries. He was imprisoned at Stalag 7a Mooseburg and moved to several work camps.
