MilitaryShot down 6 September 1943 in B-17 #42-5942 "Sky Shy". Prisoner of War (POW).
Broke a foot in landing and spent 3 months in hospital before being sent to Stalag Luft 3. Served also in Korea and Viet Nam. Ended his US Air Force career as a Colonel.
