Marshall Haugen was Radio Operator on 322nd Sqdn's 'Chief Sly' and 'Chief Sly II' and flew over with the 91st BG in the September of 1942.
After completing his first tour he returned temporarily to the USA in July 1943 before joining the 390th BG at Framlingham in Sussex for a second tour. He was awarded the DFC, Air Medal and Purple Heart. After graduation from St Olaf's College, Lacrosse he taught American History and Social Studies at Lacrosse Logan High School - also coaching the football and hockey teams - for 27 years.
Awards: DFC, AM (2OLC), PH, GC, American Defense and Campaign, WWII Victory, EAME.
