Flight Officer Lloyd R. Shufelberger was a Glider Pilot in the 437th Troop Carrier Group, 84th TCS.  On 17 September 1944, his glider was hit by German FLAK while he was attempting to land near Zon, Netherlands, and he was mortally wounded.  FO Shufelberger is buried in Bucklin, Kansas.
