Object Number - UPL 32521 - "Brigadier General Julius K Lacey. 351st Bomb Group England 10-Jun-44."
Commanding officer 384th Bomb Group from 6-Sep-43 to 23-Nov-43 then was given command of the 94th Combat Bomb wing.
Transferred to Far East Air Forces in Oct-43, Lacy became vice commander of the 5th Air Force. In Jul-45 he became deputy commander for operations and training of the 2nd Air Force at Colorado Springs, CO. Named special assistant to the commander, FEAF, on 5-May-54. On 15-Jul-54, was appointed J-3, Far East Command, FEAF, and on 26-Apr-55 became deputy chief of staff, Plans, FEAF.
Returning to the US in Nov-55, Lacey was appointed commandant, USAF Institute of Technology, Air University, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, OH.
Awards: SS (OLC), DFC (OLC), AM (2OLC), BSM, DSM, LOH, Croix de Guerre (with palm), American Campaign Medal, WWII Victory, EAME, DUC.
