Says it flew in North Africa with Benny and was eventually assigned to 389th as a hack and later as a form-up ship. He thinks it was originally with another group (possibly 376th or 98th).' Zionville, NC 19 November 2008 John W. Propst, age 85, of 6310 Old Highway 421, Zionville, died Wednesday evening, November 19, 2008, at Mecklenburg Health Care Center in Charlotte. Mr. Propst is survived by his wife; two daughters; two sons; three granddaughters; five grandsons; two great-granddaughters and one great-grandson; one brother. He is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sons; his father and mother, Henry Lester Propst and Maggie Caldwell Propst, and two sisters. Funeral services for Mr. John W. Propst will be conducted Saturday afternoon, November 22, 2008, at 2:00 o'clock, at Hampton Funeral Home Chapel. The body will lie in state, at the chapel, from 1:00 until 2:00 o'clock. Officiating will be Reverend Gordon Noble. Military graveside rites and burial will follow in Cove Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening, from 7:00 until 9:00, at Hampton Funeral Service.
