Tail gunner, Noxon crew. 381st BG, 535th BS. Shot down 1 December 1943 in B-17 #42-31111 'Four Aces-Pat Hand'. MACR 1659. Killed in Action (KIA). The aircraft left formation shortly after the bomb run and was thought to be lost over the sea. Tablets of the Missing at the Netherlands AMC.

S/Sgt Channell transferred from the RCAF in June 1943. He was an original member of the Robbins crew.

Credited with one German fighter destroyed on the 23 September 1943 mission to Nantes, France.

Credited with three German fighters destroyed on the 8 October 1943 mission to Bremen, Germany.
