MilitaryAircraft struck by flak while strafing an airdrome NW of Berlin. Pilot Lt John Barden bailed out at 1,000ft landing just south of the village of Liebenrode, Germany. Taken by villagers to Nordhausen, he was reported to have been held captive and put on display in a shop window until collected by the authorities. 29-Apr-44. POW. MACR 4671.
