near Vipiteno, Italy 25 February 1945 KIA - He was on the crew of the B-25J #43-4000 on a bombing mission near the Brenner Pass in Italy. They were hit by enemy flak and an explosion in the radio compartment disabled the plane. They crashed into a mountain, with only one man surviving, blown out and able to deploy his parachute.
