John C. Mouat was born in 1921 in a log cabin atCuster, Montana near the battlefield where General Custer and many of histroops were massacred in 1876.During World War II, the author piloted 8thAir Force Flying Fortresses to targets in Germany and was awarded theDistinguished Flying Cross by General Curtis LeMay for bravery on a bombingmission to ball-bearing plants in Schweinfurt. He also flew combat missions in the Korean War, from 1950 to 1953.During his military career, the author was secretaryto General Dwight D. Eisenhower; congratulated by Princess Elizabeth, thefuture Queen of England; kissed by actress Hedy Lamar; and dined withGeneralissimo and Madame Chiang Kai Shek.This is Colonel Mouat's fourth book. The first and second are titled "TALES OF THE BEARTOOTH" and describehis exciting adventures with wildlife, cowboys and dudes while owning andoperating a guest ranch in Montana's magnificent Beartooth Mountains outsideYellowstone Park. The third is titled "FROM INDIAN FORT TO FLYING FORT - And FarBeyond" and traces his life from growing up on America's Last Frontier topiloting combat aircraft during three wars
