Rochevent, 17810, France 5 January 1944 - 7 August 1944 Helped by French citizens and members of the Résistance, he was led to many places in France and was ultimately hidden in a huge Maquis camp East of Luchapt. He and Left Waist Gunner Clarence Norton and another evading American airman participated in Maquis operations against the Germans, in a joint force with the British SAS (Special Air Service.) Bradley, Norton and the 3rd US airman were then brought North to an airfield at Villemort, also in the Vienne Department of France. Flown back to England in an RAF Hudson, they landed at Tempsford in the morning of 7 August 1944.
