Killed in Action on 21 January 1945 in P-47 Thunderbolt #44-20424.
Aageberg was leading a four ship flight on a sortie to attack German vehicles over St Vith. Aageberg's flight came under fire from flak, and he reported his engine was cutting out, stating his intention to bail out. Other members of Aagerberg's flight watched him bail out, and his parachute fail to open.
Awarded the Air Medal with 16 Oak Leaf Clusters.
