Rendle won his wings and was commissioned into the AAC Reserve in February 1935. Before Pearl Harbor he did a stint as an airline pilot. He was to lead the 392nd BG on some 100 wartime missions before taking over a new bomber wing in June 1944. Post war he was COS 15th AF Colorado Springs before his retirement in 1949 and afterwards involved in real estate and banking. He died of a heart attack at the age of 64.
Awards: DFC, BSM, AM (OLC), WWII Victory, EAME (4 x Battle Stars).
