Henry Rudow enlisted in the Army Air Force as an Aviation Cadet in August, 1942. After flight training, he was assigned as a B-17 Pilot with the 398th Bomb Group, 8th Air Force stationed at Nuthampstead, England. He flew 34 combat missions over Europe and was hit by flak on the 34th and landed at Duffel, Belgium.
