Completed tour of duty April 1, 1945, hometown Superior, WI. 63 combat missions and credited with 1 FW-190 kill November 26, 1944. "The element leader, Upper Red Three, 2nd Lt. Henry E. Girzi, was about to engage a FW-190 below when another broke in from the left. As the 190 passed, Girzi turned inside of him and fired, getting some strikes. The 190 split-essed from 22,000 feet, and Girzi pursued, firing as he went and scoring hits. The enemy aircraft went straight in." 505 the after action report.
