Commanding Officer 93rd Bomb Group,27-Sep-44 to 27-Nov-44. Led the 2nd Air Division 8 times. On 11 July raid I changed targets from Primary (airfield east of Hamburg) to Secondary (Hamburg itself) because of weather report over the Primary. Flak extremely heavy; aircraft shot full of holes and electrical system knocked out. I remember repeating the 23rd Psalm during our run to target. Kissed the ground on return. A great experience commanding the best group in the 2nd Air Division!
