On 4/16/43 mission to Brest, Plane #41-23847 Yardbird badly shot up. Most of crew bailed out, but plane was gotten under control and pilot landed it at St Eval an RAF base. Not injured in crash.



Earlier with the same pilot Leon Packer 2 December 1942 while transporting navigators to a school in Oxfordshire, main landing gear retracted upon landing. All crewmembers survived on B-24 #41-23674
