Assigned to 615BS, 401BG, 8AF USAAF. 27 x combat missions. Nursed the "Mary Alice" back to England from Munich in one of the most unusual feats of skill reported from 401st base. Haskett's crew on its 5th mission, was "Tail End Charlie" and received the worst of a sudden attack from Fw190's. Tail gunner mortally wounded having fought off and downed a Fw190. RTD
