Blackie was my father's Allan R. Gold's first cousin, his friend and his neighbor. No one called him Harold. Blackie's photo and obituary appeared in the February 13, 1945 edition of the Brooklyn College Vanguard. He had previously served as President of Brooklyn College's Student Self-Government Association. He was just 20 years old, when he died.
