2nd Lieutenant Gerald P Davis was born May 6, 1922. His next of kin were his mother, Margaret O’Neil, and an uncle, Harry Sutton. He was from Bayou La Batre, Alabama.

On July 7, 1944, he was serving as navigator aboard B-17 tail #44-6147 when it was involved in a mid-air collision with another bomber over Haverhill, Cambridgeshire. The bombers, which belonged to the 384th Bomb Group, 545th Bomb Squadron, were returning from a mission at the time of the crash.

He is buried at the US Military Cemetery at Cambridge, England.
