From his obituary notice printed in the Texas A&M University alumni magazine:



"U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of WWII. Aircraft commander of a B-17 at age 20. Flew 35 combat missions over Germany with 8th AF. Taught at Hines Junior College in Raymond, Mississippi, worked for American Airlines for 31 years as union representative, instructor pilot, assistant chief pilot, and later as captain. Preceded in death; wife#1 Alice; wife#2 Betty June; wife#3 Betty Kelly. Survivors: Four sons; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild."
