Żagań, Poland 14 January 1945 Wounded in the leg by shrapnel wounds, he was captured and brought to to a field hospital in Hoffnungsthal near Köln (Cologne), Germany. From there, he was sent to the Interrogation Center at Dulag Luft, where he arrived on 9 March 1945. He was then sent to Stalag Luft 3 in Sagan, Poland and probably was on the Death March from there to Stalag 7A Moosburg, Germany. NARA WWII POW records “Returned to military control 21/07/1945”
