First mission was flown on D-Day. Flew B24's until August 1944, was then switched to B17's. Flew B-17 called 'Ulpy'. On mission to Madgeburg was hit by flak and forced to land in Brussels Belgium. Surprised that they had no wartime damage in city. Able to fix plane and fly back to England and rejoin group next day. Flew total of 35 missions.
