C-47A Crew of "Buzz Buggy"
436th Troop Carrier Group collection
1st Lt. Eugene R. Davis Jr. was killed in action when the C-47A aircraft was shot down near Wesel, Germany on 24 March 1945. Lt. Davis, Navigator, along with the entire crew were killed while flying in Operation Varsity. Lt. Davis is buried in Arlington National Cemetery.
