Eugene Mack Beason

Gene Beason served as a fighter pilot with the 62nd Fighter Squadron of the 56th Fighter Group, flying missions out of Boxted, England. He flew a total of 65 missions and was credited with five victories. In January 1945, he was transferred to the 1st Gunnery & Tow Target Flight.
After the war he returned to agriculture until he was recalled by the US Air Force for service in the Korean War during which time he served in Iceland as a Communications Officer.
Back on civvy street, he joined the Cessna Aviation Company as an electrician. Gene went on to work for Boeing in Wichita as an electronics technician. He remained with Boeing until he retired in 1986.
