Ernest Eugene Wheeler Jr
MilitaryC-47 hit on left wing by anti-aircraft fire whilst dropping 15 paratroopers from the 101st airborne over Carentan on D-Day. Plane was kept flying until all paratroopers, bar one injured one had exited. The plane crashed and all 4 crew and the injured paratrooper were killed.
