April - August 1943. Navigator, King crew. 381st BG, 534th BS. Shot down 17 August 1943 in B-17 #42-29978 'Hell's Angel'. Mission #20 :Black Tuesday" to the ball bearing works at Schweinfurt, Germany. #4 engine was damaged and the right wing was on fire. MACR 382. Prisoner of War at Stalag Luft III and possibly Stalag 2B (per NARA).

MACR investigation reports were searching for 2Lt McGlynn. He was seen at Dulag Luft and Stalag Luft III. 1Lt King had seen him in Chicago, IL after the war on a 60 day furlough. Unknown why he was reported missing.
