Edward Frewen Wilson III

Edward Wilson served as a pilot with the 491st Bomb Group flying B-24s on bombing missions out of North Pickenham, England. He took quite a few colour photographs of Liberators, both on base and in the air. He later shared slide copies with aviation historian Roger Freeman.
Edward Frewen Wilson III (1917-2006) enlisted in the US Army Air Forces in August 1940, he served as a pilot with the 853rd Bomb Squadron, 491st Bomb Group at North Pickenham, Flying B-24 Liberators. Wilson remained in the US Air Force following the Second World War, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel c.1968, he later worked in public health in Virginia.
