Killed in Action (KIA) on 8-Oct-43 in P-47C 41-6268, 56FG/63FS while on a mission to escort B-17s attacking at Bremen, Germany. The aircraft was attacked by fighters and crashed into the Zuider Zee (Ijsselmeer) near Amsterdam, Holland.
