Daniel S Mayka

Military

God knows why he volunteered, he had only one semester left in college and the war was turning decisively in the Allies favor. Amazingly he trained as a cavalry officer in college ROTC and became a bomber pilot. My, how fast war changes things, especially the people in combat. 35 combat missions was enough to color any person's life perspective. He always wanted to visit Bassingbourn before he died but he never made it, Bassingboun and the war were imprinted on his soul.
