Conrad N. Desmarais, 92, of Fall River, formerly of 346 County St., husband of Gilberte E. “Gibby” (Leblanc) Desmarais, died Tuesday, October 15, 2013.



Conrad was a mixologist at White’s of Westport and operated Desmarais Insurance, Real Estate and Property Management. A WW II Army Air Corps Veteran, his airplane was shot down over German Occupied France and he was held a Prisoner of War from March 1944 to June 1945, liberated in Austria. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Disabled American Veterans, Knights of Columbus and Leon Caravan # 122 Order of Alhambra.



Besides his wife of 64 years he leaves siblings Colette Faucher of San Diego, CA, Jeannine Hanson of State College, PA, Pauline Hall of Lincoln, RI and Rene O. Desmarais of Colorado and nieces and nephews. He was the son of the late Octave O. and Maria (Allard) Desmarais and the brother of the late Jeannette Joubert, Gemma Coutu, Octave Desmarais, Agnela Gagnon and Fall River Mayor Roland G. Desmarais.



His funeral will be held Friday at 8:00 AM from the AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 So. Main St., Fall River, with a funeral mass at St. Bernadette Church at 9:00 AM. Burial, Notre Dame Cemetery.



Visitation, Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. LARGE PARKING AREA and BARRIER-FREE ENTRANCE at the rear of funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Veterans Outreach, PO Box 9091, Fall River MA 02720.
