Served as part of the 8th Air Force Pathfinders, 482nd Heavy Bombardment Group. Participated in the first raid over Germany. Flew 27 combat missions. Recipient of the Distinguished Flying Cross, Air Medal with three oak leaf clusters, Croix De Guerre with Palm, the ETO ribbon with 10 battle stars and the Distinguished Unit Badge by virtue of a presidential citation.
