Took part in Operation Tidal Wave, the raid on Ploesti on 1 August 1943, flying B-24 Liberator 41-23779.



Killed in Action (KIA). October 1, 1943, on a mission to Weiner Neustadt, 42-72853 'Count Bruga' was attacked by several fighters and crashed in the target area. Flew on famous Ploesti raid of 1 Aug '43 earlier. Crew was TDY 9th AAF.
